Robin Hood (Doncaster Sheffield) Airport has seen a rise in cargo deliveries as compared to the same period in 2014

Doncaster Sheffield Airport has seen a rise in cargo deliveries in the first half of the year as compared to the same time period of the last year 2014. The Doncaster Sheffield Airport of UK transferred more cargo in the first six months of the year, which is more than the whole cargo of the previous year 2014. Doncaster Sheffield Airport transported approximately 700 tons or more cargo last year. The Airport in the UK enjoyed an 112 percent increase in its cargo as compared to the 345 tons which it transported in 2013.

The statistics, which show the number of shipments in and out of the airport, display a second succeeding year of growth. Doncaster Sheffield Airport currently handles special ad hoc freight airlines such as Airbus A300, McDonnell Douglas DC-10, McDonnell Douglas MD-11, Boeing 747-400 and Antonov 124.

It is an honour for the airport that it invited as a host to the world’s largest aircraft, the Antonov 225 in February 2010 and November 2014.  Dayle Hauxwell cargo manager at Doncaster Sheffield Airport remarks that in recent months the business growth has been excellent and is a constant mark that the Doncaster Sheffield Airport and its cargo lounge are increasing its esteem and repute around the world for stress free cargo operations. The cargo amount being delivered has and remains to rise expressively and this cannot be only good news for the airport as well as good for the economy of the region.

By Anglo World Cargo, the airport has managed deliveries during the period of January to June in Nepal, Kenya, Venezuela, the US and other European destinations such as Greece and France. Gary Winterman managing director at Anglo World Cargo says no doubt many companies and cargo operators are looking towards the Doncaster Sheffield Airport for the deliveries of their freight around the world.

It’s great to see the work being put in by the airport coming to completion with these latest records but very focused on bringing more growth in the months ahead. Cargo Terminal of Doncaster Sheffield Airport covers about 12,000 square feet of working ground space and have a series of equipment and facilities to handle any aircraft.

The length of airport runway is 2,893 meters and can manage the smallest to large cargo on Antonov An-225s. Doncaster Sheffield Airport welcomed two Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 777 cargo flights reached with 200 tons of tea on board in March 2015.
