CSCL Globe is the biggest cargo container ship in the world<\/h1>\n

CSCL Globe is the container ship assembled at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea, for Shanghai-based China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL). CSCL Globe is the world\u2019s biggest ship which is honored for the Hyundai Heavy Industries.<\/p>\n

The Hyundai Heavy Industries signed an order with worth $700 million, from CSCL in May 2013 to assemble five ships of 19,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container ships.<\/p>\n

The CSCL Globe container ship<\/strong><\/a> is the biggest container ship of the world and it will be beating the Maersk Line’s\u00a0Triple-E class container ships\u00a0that have the capacity of 18,000TEU.<\/p>\n

Construction of the world’s largest container ship<\/h2>\n

In January, the construction of the new cargo ship starts with the first steel cutting. In October, the trails of the ship in the sea were positively accomplished and in November the container was launched to the CSCL Globe at a ceremonial party which held at the Ulsan yard.<\/p>\n

Recently CSCL Globe boarded on her first journey from the Tianjin Port China<\/strong><\/a> to Europe through the route of Far East-Europe.<\/p>\n

Another 19,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container, CSCL Pacific Ocean, is in the process of assembling at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard. It is planned to be launched along with the other three container ships this year.<\/p>\n

Features of the Hyundai Heavy Industries built vessel<\/h2>\n

The CSCL Globe has been assigned the Environmental Passport-Design (EP-D) class scheme, which encounters Marpol principles, as well as the other environment-related IMO resolutions; it also meet the terms with upcoming requirements in ballast water management, ship reprocessing, trash water separation and recapturing of refrigerants.<\/p>\n

Engine and propulsion<\/h2>\n

The\u00a0propulsion\u00a0system of the CSCL Globe contains a speedy MAN B&W 12S90ME-C Mark 9.2-type engine, which is the largest engine ever constructed, with a height of 17.2m. The state-of-the-art, two-stroke engine was assembled at Hyundai Heavy Industries engine-building division and can generate 94,792hp of power at 84 rpm, but has been limited to 77,230hp.
